Classic Monte Cristo Sandwich with Chicken & Turkey Ham
"Indulge in the ultimate sweet-and-savory masterpiece where golden French-toasted bread meets a decadent melt of premium poultry and double-cheese richness."
Instructions
Lay out two slices of bread and spread about 1/2 tablespoon of mustard sauce evenly over each slice.
Place one slice of Parmesan cheese on each slice of bread, followed by a slice of chicken ham.
Add a slice of Cheddar cheese on top, then layer with a slice of turkey ham.
Lightly spread the remaining mustard sauce over the turkey ham and top with the remaining bread slices to form two sandwiches.
Press gently to compact the layers; cut each sandwich in half if desired for easier handling.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt until smooth.
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly without oversoaking.
Heat a knob of butter in a skillet over low to medium-low heat. Fry the sandwiches slowly, turning once, until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
Transfer to a plate, dust lightly with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.
