Baked Cheddar Cheese Triangles (Moslase Poniri)
"Golden, savory, and irresistibly cheesy, these Persian-inspired triangles are the ultimate elevated snack for your next tea time or mezze spread."
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, black pepper, and salt until evenly combined.
Add half of the grated cheddar cheese to the dry ingredients. Gradually pour in the milk while mixing gently, just until a soft, cohesive dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it evenly to about 1/4-inch thickness.
Lightly brush or moisten the surface of the dough with a little milk. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheddar evenly over the top, pressing gently so it adheres.
Using a sharp knife or cutter, slice the dough into small triangle shapes.
Lightly coat each triangle with oil, arrange them on the prepared baking tray with a little space between each, and bake for about 15 minutes, or until puffed, golden, and fully cooked.
