Chicken Ham Stuffed Croissants
"Transform your kitchen into a boutique bakery with these golden, herb-infused crescent rolls stuffed with savory chicken ham."
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let stand for about 5 minutes, until foamy and activated.
Place the flour in a large mixing bowl and make a well in the center. Add the egg and vegetable oil, then begin mixing from the center outward.
Pour in the yeast mixture and add the softened butter. Mix and knead until a smooth, soft, and slightly elastic dough forms.
Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for about 5 minutes, just until lightly puffed.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a large circle and cut into large triangles.
Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over each triangle. Sprinkle lightly with oregano and arrange slices of chicken ham on top.
Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle tightly toward the tip to form a croissant shape.
Arrange the croissants on a greased or lined baking sheet. Let them rest for another 5 minutes.
Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (360°F) for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked. Serve warm.
