Fried Pizza-Stuffed Pastries (Pirashki Pizza)
"Indulge in the ultimate comfort food fusion where fluffy, golden-fried dough meets the savory, cheesy explosion of a loaded pizza."
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, add the flour and make a well in the center. Add the yeast, sugar, and vegetable oil.
Gradually pour in the lukewarm water while mixing until a soft, cohesive dough forms.
Lightly knead the dough until smooth. Cover with a clean towel and let it rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes, until slightly puffed.
Meanwhile, prepare the filling by combining the sausage, ham, grated pizza cheese, bell pepper, mushrooms, melted butter, and dried thyme in a bowl. Mix until evenly distributed.
Divide the rested dough into equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle about 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter.
Place about 3 tablespoons of filling in the center of each dough circle. Lightly moisten the edges with water, fold over, and press firmly to seal into a half-moon shape.
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the pastries in batches, turning as needed, until golden brown on both sides and cooked through.
Remove from the oil and drain briefly on paper towels. Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
