Homemade Sausage & Bell Pepper Pizza
"Bring the nostalgic, bold flavors of an Italian street fair to your dinner table with this perfectly balanced, garlic-infused sausage and pepper delight."
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 345°F (175°C). Place a baking tray or pizza stone in the oven to heat while you prepare the toppings.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into an even, thin round. Transfer it carefully to a sheet of parchment paper.
Sprinkle the crushed garlic evenly over the dough, then brush the surface with olive oil to infuse flavor and help the crust bake evenly.
Spread the chopped tomatoes across the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
Scatter the shredded mozzarella evenly over the tomatoes, keeping the edges clear.
Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat. Sauté the sliced green bell pepper and onion for about 5 minutes, until slightly softened and aromatic.
Distribute the sautéed vegetables evenly over the cheese, then arrange the sliced sausage on top.
Transfer the pizza (with parchment) onto the hot baking tray or stone. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the crust turns lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and season with oregano or thyme, salt, and black pepper. Slice and serve warm.
