In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, turmeric, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Add the chicken cubes and toss until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.

While the chicken marinates, prepare the tomato sauce. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until soft and lightly golden. Stir in the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.

Add the diced tomatoes and tomato paste, then season with sugar, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld.
