Microwave Mashed Potato Pie

Place the chopped onion and cooking oil in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave uncovered on full power (100%) for 3 minutes, until the onion is soft and fragrant.

Add the minced meat to the onions. Microwave on full power for 2 minutes, stirring halfway to break up the meat evenly.

In a small bowl, mix the tomato paste with the water until smooth. Stir this mixture into the meat along with the flour, salt, and black pepper. Cover and microwave on full power for 8–10 minutes, stirring twice, until the meat is fully cooked and the sauce thickens.

Meanwhile, place the cubed potatoes in a microwave-safe dish. Pour about 100 ml of the milk over them, cover with plastic wrap, and pierce the wrap to allow steam to escape.

Microwave the potatoes on full power for 15–17 minutes, or until completely tender. Let them rest, covered, for 5 minutes.

Mash the hot potatoes until smooth. Add the egg, remaining milk, and butter, mixing well until creamy. Season lightly with salt if needed.

Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the cooked meat layer. Sprinkle the grated pizza cheese evenly on top.

Return the dish to the microwave and cook on full power for 3–4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the pie is heated through. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
