Microwave Persian Pan Kebab (Kabab Tabeh-ee)

Instructions
Grate the onions finely, then squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Place the drained onions in a bowl with the ground meat, salt, and black pepper.
Add the dissolved saffron and knead the mixture thoroughly for several minutes until smooth, sticky, and evenly seasoned.
Press the meat mixture evenly into a round microwave-safe dish, smoothing the surface. Lightly score the meat into rectangular portions to help it cook evenly.
Dot the surface with small pieces of butter. Microwave uncovered on full power for 5 minutes.
Arrange the sliced tomatoes over and around the partially cooked meat.
Return the dish to the microwave and cook uncovered on full power for about 10 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked and the tomatoes are soft and juicy.
Let the kebab rest for 2–3 minutes before serving. Serve hot with flatbread or steamed rice.
