Microwave Persian-Style Steamed Basmati Rice (Chelow-e Sadeh)

Instructions
Rinse the basmati rice under cold running water until the water runs mostly clear. Transfer the rice to a deep, microwave-safe dish with plenty of room for expansion.
Add the water, salt, and vegetable oil. Stir gently to distribute the seasoning without breaking the grains.
Cook uncovered in the microwave on full power (100%) for 15–20 minutes, stirring once halfway through to promote even cooking and prevent sticking.
Carefully remove the dish and fluff the rice with a fork. Gather the rice toward the center to create a small mound.
Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap, poking several small holes to allow excess steam to escape. Return to the microwave and cook on low power (30%) for 15–20 minutes to steam and finish cooking.
