Pizza-Style Meat Lasagna with Spinach and Mushrooms
"Indulge in the ultimate comfort food mashup where the zesty, herb-infused spirit of a meat-lover's pizza meets the decadent, cheesy layers of a classic Italian lasagna."
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until soft and fragrant.
Add the ground meat and Italian sausage. Cook until fully browned, breaking the meat apart with a spoon. Season with salt, black pepper, thyme, and fresh basil.
Stir in the pizza sauce and simmer for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to blend and the sauce to slightly thicken.
Cook the lasagna sheets according to package instructions. Drain well and set aside.
Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce over the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Arrange a layer of lasagna sheets on top.
Add another layer of meat sauce, then dot with ricotta cheese and scatter spinach evenly over the surface.
Add a layer of sliced mushrooms, then repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of sauce on top.
Sprinkle generously with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
